Hello...Spring? Can you hear me????

It is the second day of spring.  Does it feel like the second day of spring.  ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!  When I woke up this morning, I meandered over to the thermostat and what did it say?  -1.  Serious?  You can't even give us 1 degree Minnesota morning????

Now, don't get me wrong.  I consider myself a true Minnesotan.  Born and raised, and now I am raising my family here.  I know what Minnesota has to offer when it comes to weather and I try really hard not to complain about the winters.  The change in seasons is primarily what I love so much about Minnesota.  But....when the weatherman decides to remind us of "one year ago today" we had 71 degree weather and no snow....enough is enough already!!!!!!

I am dreaming of sidewalk chalk, bike rides, blowing bubbles, and pushing my kids in their swings.  I want the smells of fresh cut grass, the scent of a charcoal grill, the feel of the rain on my skin, and the sight of my orange and purple tulips popping up through the dirt.  Is this too much to ask?  It is March 21st today.  We had measurable snow 4 days ago.  Spring can come any day, I will not turn you away when you knock on my door.

Here is just a reminder of what a fresh, garden flower looks like!

Now, off the subject of complaining about the weather.  We are a little over one week away from Easter.  Easter is, in my opinion the most important holiday, that I, as a Christian celebrate.  I used to go to a church that referred to Easter as our Superbowl!  Think about the celebratory reasons for Easter Sunday.....there is no greater reason to truly celebrate the death of Jesus because it lead to his resurrection and our eternal life.  What a blessing.  What a gift.  What a selfless act.  To be loved so much, that He died for me...for you....it is almost hard to believe sometimes.  It is true though.  God loves YOU, so much that he sent his only son to die for your sins, for my sins, so we could live forever more with him in Heaven.  All it takes is faith.  Faith in Christ.  What a gift.  That is what I will be remembering this Easter.  What about you?

  1. Here in SE Michian wer're eagerly awaiting Spring, too. Although we're not at -1, today I can feel it coming. No buds on the trees, yet. But a 40 high today.
    C'mon Spring!
